Applying to the Lehman College DI

The Herbert H. Lehman College, CUNY DI participates in DICAS 3.0, and D&D Digital. Review all application requirements, deadlines and fees.

DICAS portal for Lehman opened October 30th, 2023 for the Spring 2024 match.
The Application consists of four parts

DICAS 3.0, the new DICAS platform, is customized to students applying to Lehman. All material is uploaded on the DICAS website. As you complete the application process, the system will keep you updated on your application’s progress.
Required materials inlcude:
- A DPD Verification Statement or a Letter of Intent* from an ACEND-approved DPD program
- A total of three (3) letters of reference.
- Two letters from academia. Letters should be from a faculty member or advisor who is knowledgeable about your academic ability in clinical, food service, culinary, community and/or nutrition education.
- One letter from an employer or practitioner
- If you have no employment experience in clinical, food service, culinary, community, or nutrition education, reference may be from a practitioner from a volunteer or fieldwork experience in those areas.
- If there is someone outside the field of dietetics that can vouch for your professional attributes, you may submit a fourth letter of reference.
- One official copy of each transcript from any undergraduate or graduate university attended, even if a degree was not obtained. Transcripts are to be sent to the DICAS Online service, which will verify, scan, and attach them to the application. Students who attended an undergraduate program abroad must present original transcripts evaluated by the World Education Service or equivalent.
*Letter of Intent- All successful applicants who have not fulfilled the requirements for the DPD Verification Statement by the deadline date but will be completing coursework in the spring semester will receive a provisional acceptance, depending on subsequent successful fulfillment of those requirements.
Fees and deadlines:
- DICAS application fee is $50.00 for the first designation, and $25.00 for each additional designation.
- Pre-select: Lehman College students applying for the Pre-select Option must submit their application by January 15, 2024. Contact Marina Stopler, DI Director at marina.stopler@lehman.cuny.edu to inform her that you are applying as a Pre-select.
- For all other applicants the deadline is February 15, 2024.
D&D Digital Match
- D&D Digital will be available December 1st, 2023
- Go to D&D Digital (link) to register online.
- D&D registration fee is $65.00

In the memo, put your name and the words “Dietetic Internship Application” (very important!). Please do not send a resume or any other document supporting your application. All supporting documents MUST be sent through DICAS.
Master's Degree Requirement
Students applying to the Lehman DI for the Spring 2024 match need to be eligible to enter Lehman's M.S. in Nutrition Program as a matriculated student, already be in a M.S. degree program, or already have a M.S. degree. To apply to the M.S. Nutrition program, eligibility is a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.3 either in the DPD courses or overall.
