EMT Training in the Bronx Online
In this comprehensive course, you will develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to care for patients at the scene of an accident and while transporting patients by ambulance to the hospital. EMTs have the emergency skills to assess a patient's condition and manage respiratory, cardiac, and trauma emergencies. They must be certified by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in NY, part of the NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH).
Between 2016-2026, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the total number of EMTs and paramedic jobs will increase by 24% in New York.
- High School diploma or equivalency.
A candidate with a criminal conviction may attend and complete all of the requirements of the EMT-Basic course. However, the candidate will not be permitted to take the NYS certification exam until the DOH has reviewed the circumstances of the conviction(s) and decided that the candidate does not demonstrate a risk or danger to patients. State Certification: To be certified, you must pass both written and skills-performance state examinations. To maintain certification in New York, EMTs, and paramedics must re-register every three years.
