“Historical Reflections on the HIV and HCV Epidemics in Cameroon”
This paper will present some recent data concerning the HCV epidemic in Cameroon, based on a DHS survey, in collaboration with the Centre Pasteur du Cameroon. It will discuss the correlation between the spatio-temporal pattern of HCV infection and historical access to medical care, which may indicate the role of iatrogenic factors in this epidemic and possibly in the emergence of HIV.
