HRA Pathways Program
Funded by the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA), the HRA Pathways Program enables tenants at HRA-funded housing sites to pursue their education and career goals. Scholarship funds can cover up to 100% of all tuition not covered by financial aid. In addition, the scholarship pays for transportation, books, school supplies, professional licenses, professional memberships, and exam fees. Program staff provides academic advisement and career counseling, placement in training and degree programs, and wrap-around support services to promote success. The program also offers stipends for tenants as an incentive to participate in unpaid internships in their field of study. We also manage a community garden staffed by a tenant gardener and open to the public at our main location, Hollis Gardens Apartments. See some of our success stories.
The program currently reaches 300 tenants a year through on-site and remote outreach, including in-person and virtual orientations and workshops. Our staff works closely with the participating housing sites to help tenants pursue their goals and to access referrals to additional support services.
