was born in 1938 in Holland and studied at the Amsterdamse Grafische School from 1952 to 1954. His background includes exhibiting with Colab, Group Material, and Padd in additon to many individual exhibitions. Van Dalen designed the logo for the new gymnasium facility at Lehman College, CUNY, Bronx, NY. The design can be seen on the center of the gymnasium floor, on the sports equipment, and sportswear used by the college. The logo and floor design were sponsored by the Dormitory Authority. Van Dalen's projects can also be seen at P.S. 20 located across the street from the New York Botanical Garden. In this new school botanical freizes and a mural make visual connections to the gardens.
