Carol Sun
Chinese-American Carol Sun was born and raised in the Bronx and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She received her BFA from Cooper Union, NY and her MFA from Vermont College. She currently teaches art at the Bronx High School for the Visual Arts.
Sun’s work combines a variety of traditional, applied and digital medias, materials, and techniques. She was also a member of the Asian American Pacific Islander artist group, Godzilla. Sun has participated in numerous exhibitions including Artist Space, NY; Art In General, NY; Asian American Art Center, NY; The Bronx Museum, Bronx, NY; Wave Hill, Bronx, NY; Lehman College Art Gallery, Bronx, NY; and the Neuberger Museum, NY. Her commissions include Percent for Art, DCA for P.S. 16, Corona and the MTA Arts for Transit program at 167th Street train station in the Bronx. Sun’s awards include the Pollack Krasner Grant, the Fund for Teachers Grant, and the Art Matters Fellowship.
