Library Resources to Support Faculty Teaching

The Leonard Lief Library plays a significant role in supporting both faculty teaching and scholarship/research through its collections/resource access, instructional services, technology, and research support programs.

Teaching Support

Library Faculty provide information literacy and research instruction, helping students develop the skills needed to find, evaluate, and use information effectively. They also collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy into courses and assignments. In addition, librarians can provide specialized research instruction classes tailored to specific subjects or research needs.

Liaison Program

A Library Liaison connects each academic department with a specific librarian who serves as that department's primary library contact. These librarians are assigned subject specialties and work directly with faculty to support teaching, research, and collection development.

Course Materials

The Library is able to help faculty find print and electronic materials for use in their classes

The Library licenses many electronic books (e-books), which can be used for teaching or integrated into your Brightspace Course Shell.

Scholarship/Research Support

The Library supports faculty research and scholarship by sharing our research expertise, providing access to materials from libraries at CUNY and beyond, and enhancing the visibility and impact of scholarly work through open access publishing and institutional repositories

For all other inquiries about services for faculty, please contact the Library for more information.
