Microsoft Systems and Networking Technologies

Office of Continuing Education
Lehman College

We are not offering MCP courses this summer. The fall 2003 schedule will be announced in a few weeks.

The courses offered through this program are designed to help students prepare for careers installing and administering Microsoft's server and desktop operating systems and designing, installing and managing networks based on Microsoft technology. The courses also help students prepare for Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) examinations. The completion of a series of MCP exams leads to certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA). MCSEs and MCSAs are qualified to install, maintain and support Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and related BackOffice products. In contrast to commercial training centers, Lehman offer preparatory classes in an academic format more suitable and affordable to those interested in changing careers or entering the work force.

Microsoft certification is an industry-recognized credential preparing students to fill the large number of positions in the information technology field. To learn more about Microsoft's credential and certification programs, students should review the material on the Microsoft World Wide Web site at http://www.microsoft.com/trainingandservices.

All courses are taught by instructors certified by Microsoft in the product area they are teaching. Lehman College does not conduct the certification exams nor are the costs of the exams included in the tuition. Students must make their own arrangements for the exams at a designated testing center. Practice exams may be conducted in class to enable students to gauge their progress.

If you are interested in teaching in the program, please see Job Openings for Computer Instructors.
