Learning How to
Test my Breathing

My student nurse, Mari, showed me how to use the little gadget that she's holding. She tried it out on the bear puppet on my lap first. That looked so funny that I couldn't stop laughing. The gadget is called a peak flow meter, and it measures how strong my breathing is every day. I blow into it very hard, and then I can tell whether my asthma needs special medicine or not. A very handy thing to know! I was so surprised when I met Mari...I speak Spanish, and so does she. I'm happy that she got to be my nurse.
