Now it's
MY turn to take over. This bear has been losing his whiskers, and my nurse
and I thought that he might need some special "whisker growing" medicine.
Since I know what it's like to get an IV, I got to put one in his arm,
and then I got to give him an injection. We pretended that he cried, "I'll
be good...please don't give me a shot!" Obviously, he didn't understand
about injections, so here's what I told him about them:
"You're not getting the shot
because you've been naughty! If you're naughty (like if you eat all of
the syrup that comes with my pancakes!), I'll talk with you about it, I
will NOT give you injections or IVs because of that. You get them to help
your whiskers heal. The only way the special medicine works is through
IVs and injections. Lots of medicines work as pills and syrups, but not
this kind." Then I told him that my assistant (the nurse) would help him
hold his leg still, so that it would be over in a jiffy!
