Center for Urban Science + Progress

Urban informatics uses data to better understand how cities work. This understanding can remedy a wide range of issues affecting the everyday lives of citizens and the long-term health and efficiency of cities — from morning commutes to emergency preparedness to air quality. CUSP aims to be the world's leading authority on the emerging field of urban informatics, with New York City as its laboratory and classroom. The urban issues CUSP takes on will be New York's. The solutions it creates will make the city more productive, livable, equitable, and resilient.

CUNY Advanced Science Research Center

The Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) is the keystone of CUNY's Decade of Science, an initiative launched in 2005 to help position CUNY as a significant research institution and reinforce its commitment to advancing scientific research and education.

CUNY Cultural Corps Recruitment

The City University of New York (CUNY) is partnering with New York City’s Department of Cultural Affairs and The Rockefeller Foundation to launch the CUNY Cultural Corps, which will create opportunities for CUNY students to work in the City’s cultural sector starting in Fall 2016.

Mayor’s Office Internship Program

The Mayor’s Office Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to gain experience and develop the capacity to solve New York City’s most pressing issues. The mission of the Mayor’s Office Internship Program is to build a diverse pipeline of future public service leaders. This highly selected diverse group of men and women collaborate with staff to better the Office of the Mayor and New York City.

New York City Regional Innovation Node

The New York City Regional Innovation Node (NYCRIN) is a network of 25 leading universities in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania area designed to support regional needs for innovation education, infrastructure and research by to providing state-of-the-art training for academic researchers and technologists through the National Science Foundation I-Corps program.

NYC Media Lab

NYC Media Lab connects digital media and technology companies with New York City's universities to drive innovation, entrepreneurship and talent development. A public-private partnership launched by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, NYC Media Lab funds prototyping projects that foster collaboration across a range of disciplines core to the future of media and runs The Combine, an early stage accelerator for emerging media and technology startups.

WiTNY: Women in Technology

The Women in Technology Initiative facilitates the participation of women in technology and entrepreneurship. Through a partnership with Cornell Tech and leading New York businesses, it prepares students to secure rewarding and lucrative positions in the technology industry.
