A Message from Lehman College President José Luis Cruz
As the end of the spring semester nears, I’d like to express my tremendous pride in all of you.

I am proud of each and every one of the more than 3,500 students who expect to receive their well-deserved diplomas at Commencement later this month. I congratulate them for investing their talent, time, and energy in the pursuit of a higher education and for the many successes they will surely enjoy and causes they will champion.

I am proud of each and every one of the thousands of Lehman students who made significant progress this year toward turning their own educational aspirations into reality – because of the sacrifices they have made and the impact they will surely continue to have in our classrooms and the communities they represent.

And I am proud of each and every one of our faculty and staff whose indefatigable efforts have allowed this most noble institution to accelerate its efforts to expand opportunity, improve learning, increase educational attainment, create knowledge, and transform lives.

As we continue to celebrate our 50th anniversary, I hope you too will be filled with excitement and pride for what we at Lehman have accomplished to date and the promise of what we will surely accomplish at the start of the second half of our first century.

I hope to see you at Commencement and wish you all a relaxing and wonderful summer.

José Luis Cruz
