was born in West Germany in 1953 and has lived and worked in Manhattan since 1978. He is known for his on-site projects designed for alternative spaces, such as The Thing, installed in an abandoned public school auditorium in the Bronx in 1981, as well as more recent installations at Artists' Space, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Museum of Modern Art. Ladda won the 1992 Art Commission Award for Excellence in Design for the project at P.S. 7 in the Bronx, which is his first permanent public commission.
