Image of a girl dressed as Little Bo Peep

A P.S. 8 student is seen dressed in a home made Little Bo Peep paper costume. Children who had costumes walked in the front of the annual school parade.

  Listen to the the story:

"I had made the costume of Little Bo Peep.

And all the participants, that could afford to make a paper costume, were allowed to walk in the front part of the parade.

Our place of having fun and getting together would be over at French Charley's, the well known baseball field. The Bronx River ran through there. And we would set up cool drinks for the children. They'd have potato races and all kinds of feats that they endured.

And the one that seemed to be the best dressed costume would get a little extra bun as a prize. They didn't demand any big prizes in those days."
