Here's the Rest of the Scoop

David

Julia forgot to tell you about her blue machine, so I'll tell you about mine. It's not really a robot, but it does have wheels, so you can take it with you wherever you go, like to the bathroom, the playroom, or even outside on the hospital porch. I pretend it's like taking my shadow around with me! Sometimes it beeps, when it's out of IV water, or when its battery gets low, or when it just wants to drive you crazy. See, the machine helps the IV fluid to go into your veins at just the right speed. My nurse, Julie, just put some medicine in the IV. That's the greatest thing about having one. When you need medicine through your veins, instead of getting needles all the time, the medicine just goes right into the IV. Cool, huh? No wonder I'm smiling! Yours truly, David
