Undergraduate and Graduate Programs and Courses

The Department of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing for non-nurses and for Registered Nurses licensed in New York State. The upper-division Nursing program, which leads to a B.S. degree, is designed to prepare for a career and to build a foundation for graduate study in professional nursing. It fulfills the requirements of the New York State Education Department, is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and entitles its graduates to take the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX) for licensure as a registered nurse. The clinical laboratory sections of the Nursing courses are conducted in diverse and culturally rich clinical facilities in the Bronx, Westchester, and other surrounding communities. Independent study and honors projects are available to qualified students.
