*ANT 320: Anthropological Theory and Method I.

(3 hours, 3 credits). Origins and evolution of theory and method in anthropology with special emphasis on the period from the mid-19th century to the end of World War II. Topics may include the comparative method; functionalism; evolution versus diffusion; and key ideas of progress, culture, and race.
