About the Bedford Park Section of the Bronx

The Bedford Park section of the Bronx is a residential neighborhood that lies between the New York Botanical Gardens and the Jerome Park Reservoir. Distinct gothic and art deco architecture designs highlight many of the buildings in this area. The Bedford Park section of the Bronx is famous for its “education mile” with Lehman College, Fordham Prep High School, Mount St. Ursula Academy for Girls, and the High School for American Studies are all located along a mile stretch of Bedford Park Boulevard. This area of the Bronx is one of the most accessible with two subway lines running into Manhattan and eight bus lines to choose from.
