Global Research in Singapore - Deadline October 4, 2013

Lehman College offers an exciting opportunity to its undergraduate students to explore the world and hone their research and critical thinking skills. Through this initiative, students will spend one week (January 13-19) studying at Nanyang Polytechnic, Lehman’s new partner institution in Singapore.  During this week, students will be staying at Nanyang Polytechnic dormitory, free of charge.

This short-term project will be integrated with an independent study course approved by a faculty advisor.  Students’ proposals must reflect original thinking on global themes that are relevant to the disciplines they are studying.  Students selected for this trip will receive scholarships to cover the airfare and some personal expenses

Lehman College Intensive Research Opportunity (LIRO) - Deadline March 15, 2014

This program is designed to enrich the research training and socio-cultural experience of Lehman College STEM majors, that are underrepresented in STEM disciplines, by exposing them to funded winter and summer scientific research-intensive internships that are part of on-going STEM projects at participating external research institutions. CUNY Summer Undergraduate Research Program (C-SURP) - Deadline February 15, 2014

Undergraduates interested in research careers in the sciences or engineering should apply. The ten-week program runs from June 3rd – August 9th. All undergraduates completing their sophomore or junior year may apply. CUNY Community College students with at least 30 credits at the time of application are also encouraged to apply. The program offers a hands-on research experience and is open to students interested in key research areas in the biological, chemical and physical sciences and in engineering. These areas may include chemistry, energy technologies, environmental science, nanoscience, neuroscience, photonics, physics and structural biology among others. In accordance with their expressed scientific interests, successful applicants will be matched with a faculty mentor at one of CUNY's eleven senior colleges
