Online Education for Students

General Information

For Lehman College students, technology plays an integral role, from e-mail to interactive learning tools. The following resources help students meet their needs.

Lehman Student E-mail Accounts

When you enroll at Lehman, a Live@Lehman e-mail account will be automatically generated for you. Microsoft hosts the e-mail account, which is controlled by CUNY. This student e-mail system is based on Windows Live Hotmail, the most-used webmail service in the world, although it is customized and co-branded by each CUNY college. Live@Lehman provides current students and alumni with a set of communications and collaboration services, such as an e-mail account, a shared calendar, and an address book. For more information and a list of features, visit Live at Lehman FAQs

CUNY Portal

The CUNY portal is a gateway to all things CUNY: college websites, information about applying to CUNY, registering for classes, events, campus directories, etc. the CUNY portal makes it easier and faster to find what you need. And if you register on the portal, the ability to customize your view will make future visits to the portal more productive. The City University of New York connects students, faculty and staff with a detailed directory of departments including the Help Desk, Human Resources, Registrar, Student Life and ePermit Campus Approvers among others.

Blackboard

  • Blackboard is the online course management system used at Lehman College and CUNY. Each semester, hundreds of courses taught at Lehman College have an active Blackboard presence. Some faculty use Blackboard to store and provide students with electronic course materials while others create fully-online course environments. Thousands of students are enrolled in these courses every semester.
    • Lehman College offers support to students that use Blackboard. This website contains resources for finding answers to common Blackboard issues, tips and tools for getting started with Blackboard, and contact information for those who seek direct, one-on-one support.
    • If you have logged into Blackboard you can find a tab at the top of the page called 'ONLINE INFO' where you will find an Orientation (an interactive tutorial) that illustrates how to use Blackboard.
