Dear Campus Community,
Last evening, I wrote to you about a Lehman student who alerted us yesterday that she had tested positive for coronavirus. We now know more information about her schedule on campus.
The student began feeling ill on March 5, and thought it was allergies. She attended classes on March 5, 7, 9 and 11. Last week, however, she began feeling sluggish and fatigued, and was tested for the coronavirus. She heard back Sunday that she was positive.
State health officials has advised us that the students and instructors who were in her classes, held at Davis and Carman halls, need to go into a "precautionary quarantine" for 14-days after they took a class.
These were the classes attended:

The areas visited by the students on those dates have been thoroughly cleaned by our custodial staff as part of their ongoing proactive cleaning measures.
The risk to the rest of our community is low. But these are extraordinary times. If you experience symptoms such as a fever, cough and difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, please contact your health care provider. If you don't have a health care provider, please call 311.
Your safety and health are my priority. If you would like more information, please feel free to email us at covid19.taskforce@lehman.cuny.edu.
Finally, for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, campus offices will be open only to essential staff as we continue to prepare for distance learning to begin Thursday, and we finalize new operating procedures.
Our thoughts are with the impacted student and her family at this time, and all our community.
We will keep you updated. Please visit lehman.edu/coronavirus for more information.
Sincerely,
Daniel Lemons
