Update: MSCHE Institutional Self-Study
Dear Campus Community,
I am pleased to report that we are making progress with our Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) institutional self-study. The executive committee of the steering committee integrated the feedback received in response to my October 15 email into a new draft which was approved earlier today by the steering committee. The approved draft will be posted to our MSCHE website on or before it is submitted to the chair of our site visit team on November 21, 2018.
As a reminder, the chair of our site-visit team will be on our campus on December 7, 2018 for a required preliminary visit. Based on her assessment of the draft report and what she learns during her visit, the College will receive additional feedback that will inform the final self-study report that we plan to submit to the site-visit team on February 17, 2019 in anticipation of the site-visit on April 7-10, 2019. The steering committee has empowered the executive committee to make the changes necessary to ensure that all MSCHE policies, guidelines, and requirements are met and that the final report is “organized, analytical, concise, fair and honest.” The final draft will be presented to the steering committee and Lehman College Senate in early 2019 for final approval and endorsement.
As I have said before, the MSCHE self-study process and review are integral to Lehman College fulfilling its mission and maintaining an exemplary level of critical service to our Bronx community and beyond. I greatly appreciate the high-level of campus engagement to date and am confident that we will maintain this level of connection to the process in the months ahead.
In the meantime, please join me in once again thanking our steering committee members who have worked so hard to elicit the campus input required to develop an outstanding final institutional-self-study report.
