Today, the campus is vibrant. Students, administrators, and faculty are hard at work—rekindling relationships, nurturing learning, furthering knowledge, and transforming communities.

If you're a student, I encourage you to redouble your efforts to meet your educational goals—efforts that one day soon will allow you to revel in the legacy of your alma mater.

If you're a member of our distinguished faculty, I urge you to keep in focus the significant impact of your work, as you seek to fulfill your many responsibilities in the areas of teaching, service, and scholarship.

And if you're a member of our staff or an administrator, I encourage you to embrace your special role as an educator and infuse this identity into your work plans and goals for the year.

There is much work to be done and many challenges ahead, but together we will embark into this new era—the third presidency of Lehman College—with a deep appreciation for the College's legacy and a fresh outlook for the College's future.

With that in mind, I would like to invite you to lend your voice to my first Convocation address, on Wednesday, September 21 by filling out a short survey that you can access here. You can choose to have your responses remain anonymous or attributed to you. The survey will be open until Monday, September 12 at 6 p.m.

Your responses will be instrumental in my ability to articulate some general ideas of how we can ensure that Lehman College reaches its full potential as an engine of opportunity, a vehicle of upward mobility, and a driver of transformative change.
