Andrea P. Boyar is associate professor of Dietetics, Foods, and Nutrition. She earned her undergraduate degree in biological sciences, an M.N.S. in nutrition sciences, and her Ph.D. in human nutrition from Cornell University.
Prior to arriving at Lehman, she served as Nutrition Section Head at the American Health Foundation in New York City. There she served as the project coordinator of an NCI-funded grant designed to test the feasibility of low-fat diets for women with Stage II breast cancer. She is currently the principal investigator on a USDA-funded grant to promote the development of online and hybrid courses within the DFN program. A continuing interest over the last several years has been the rational use of dietary supplements, including vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, and botanical preparations.
