Intro Class

This course provides an opportunity to work as an ensemble and bring a dramatic text to life on the stage. In parallel to preparing for the performance, students learn about the different crafts of theatre and get an exposure to Theatre History. In small groups they researched and presented a particular aspect of theatre (Greek Drama, Theatre of the Absurd, Realism, The Globe Theatre, Japanese Theatre, etc.) Excerpts from Shakespeare, August Wilson, and other contemporary playwrights were introduced to broaden the literary and emotional content of our central piece. Overall, students were exposed to acting techniques to explore and trust their intuitive and impulsive approach to text.
