Commencement Day is the most important day of the year at Lehman. This year, that day may have looked very different from what we were all expecting, but what didn’t change was Lehman College’s recognition of all of your hard work and the sacrifices you made to become what you are today--a graduate of Lehman College. If you missed the ceremony, you may view it now and know that you may return to this page, for Lehman will continue hosting it into the future. This was an historical day. You are part of a historical class. And we will continue to preserve and recognize this document of your success. Congratulations, and know that everyone at Lehman College is looking forward to the day when we may celebrate your hard work at an in-person commencement ceremony in the future.
The event features remarks by President Daniel Lemons, Provost Peter Nwosu, deans of the College’s five Schools, graduating seniors from the Class of 2020 Student Government Association President Tarialy Hernandez and Class of 2020 graduate, Kassandra Montes. Also included in the ceremony are congratulatory messages from CUNY Chancellor Félix V. Matos, U.S. Sen. Charles E. Schumer, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, and Lehman alumni New York State Attorney General Letitia James, and Bronx Borough President Rubén Díaz Jr. Honorary Degree recipients Dr. Oxiris Barbot, New York City Health Commissioner, and Latin jazz legend Bobby Sanabria, will also provide remarks, with Bobby Sanabria & the Multiverse Big Band performing.
The names of the more than 3,600 graduates of the Lehman College Class of 2020 will be displayed, along with additional congratulatory messages from faculty and staff.
