William Bosworth

William Bosworth, former Associate Professor of Political Science at Lehman College, received his BA from Stanford University and his Ph.D. from Princeton University.  His teaching career at Lehman extended from 1960 to 1999, when he retired. Prof. Bosworth was the first chairman of the Political Science Department at Lehman College, when it became an autonomous branch of CUNY in 1968.

Prof. Bosworth’s main interests evolved over the years, from Western European politics to American constitutional law, and finally to local demographic issues. On four occasions (1987 through 1991), he was sent by the US State Department to give lectures on American government and politics in France and French-speaking Africa. Though his earlier writings were mainly on  French social and colonial policy, more recently he has concentrated on Bronx demographic issues.  For many years he has been developing the website called DISCOVERING THE BRONX, with hundreds of maps and demographic analysis. You can find it by going to Google and typing William Bosworth Bronx.
