Presently, at Lehman, she teaches SPE 726, Aphasia and Related Disorders and SPE 739, Dysphagia, as well as SPE 729 Clinical Practicum and SPE 730, Clinical Externship. She served as the Graduate Program Director from January 2001 until August, 2010. She has been instrumental in developing the Adult Aphasia Clinic at Lehman College, and her research interests have focused on developing and testing evidenced-based treatment protocols for individuals with aphasia. Her non-academic interests include physical activities such as walking, hiking, spinning, and Pilates as well as reading, cooking and gardening. She is writing a novel that takes place in the 1900’s and includes two characters with aphasia. She lives in Manhattan and has a three-season country cottage in Buchanan, New York.
