Lehman Summer Music Education Program

The Lehman College Music Department's annual Summer Music Education Program affords music teachers opportunities to earn hours towards fulfilling New York State professional development requirements, academic credits towards "Masters + 30/ +60" salary steps, and for peer networking,

For Summer 2014, the following courses are available for graduate or undergraduate credit. Please note, professional experience in the specific disciplines taught in each class is not necessary. Our courses are designed for educators to expand their knowledge and expertise into new areas. Reasonable accommodation can be made for participants with scheduling conflicts, however such must be made in advance with the Music Department.

Latin Percussion Methods (3 credits, 3 hours) - Mon to Fri, July 7 to July 11 - 8:30am to 5:30pm (more information)

Piano for Music Teachers (2 credits, 2 hours) - Tue & Thu, July 8 to August 5 - 12:10pm to 3:10pm (more information)

New Jazz Literature (3 credits, 3 hours) - Mon to Fri, July 14 to July 18 - 8:30am to 5:30pm (more information)
