Jennifer MacKenzie has been a lecturer in Lehman’s departments of English and Journalism and Media Studies since 2014. She is a poet and writer with a focus on contemporary American and Syrian poetry. Her poetry chapbook, Distant City, was published by Finishing Line Press; her full-length book of poems, My Not-My Soldier, won Fence Books Modern Poets Award. She has published poetry in numerous journals including Spillway, Image, Forklift Ohio, Typo, Quarterly West, Drunken Boat, and Lungfull. She has also published literary journalism and reviews in the Kenyon Review online, Religion and Politics, Killing the Buddha, Huffington Post, Guernica, and Hyperallergic.
