Master of Arts in Liberal Studies—Core Courses

Apply Now

The four core courses, typically taken in the first year, give MALS students the building blocks they need to succeed in the program. These courses are intended to introduce students to the methods of doing interdisciplinary research, to refresh material from their undergraduate studies, and to provide exposure to disciplines that they didn't encounter as undergrads. These courses are also an opportunity for students to get to know each other in a small seminar setting, and to work closely with faculty members from different departments. This page will be updated regularly to provide the latest information about instructors and syllabi for these courses.
