About Lehman Stories

Lehman Stories is a multimedia compilation of stories, blogs and videos that highlight students' individual paths to success at Lehman College. These personal narratives showcase the many ways the Lehman community has had a positive impact on the lives of our students.

In these stories, Lehman students are showcased on-camera, while many more are involved in the behind-the-scenes production process, from conception to final edits, through inspiring, hands-on training opportunities and internships.

Check out Lehman Stories to learn more about life on campus, then register for an Information Session and Campus Tour and take the first step to creating your own Lehman success story. Consider a donation to support our students.

Karla Brito

A native of the Dominican Republic, Karla felt accepted and welcome at Lehman College. Inspired by Lehman's beautiful campus and fueled by her desire to give back and work within her community, Karla is pursuing a degree in Sociology and now works as a Teacher's Assistant for second grade.

Louis Carrasco

Louis left his job managing an auto parts store after realizing better opportunities were waiting and college was the first step. At Lehman, he obtained an internship with the Multimedia Center. Feeling lost at first, he soon had the skills and confidence to work as a photographer, videographer and editor on projects including the Emmy Award-winning Best of the Bronx series.

Ron Smith

Born and raised in the Bronx, Ron found his way to Lehman College after years of 'soul searching.' Under the guidance of Lehman's Music Department, Ron took his passion for playing music to new heights and is now a Lehman graduate and accomplished percussionist, recently performing at the famed B.B. King Blues Club in NYC.
